KCS Utilities & Groundworks Limited installed 72LM of 180mm PE100 Barrier Pipe SDR11 and 50LM of 63mm HDPE Barrier Pipe SDR11. Chlorination and pressure testing were carried out in-house with pass certificates issued, followed by a WIAP’s certification of compliance. All excavation work was carried out by the customer. A visual survey and CAT & Genny scan was conducted to identify all buried utilities and services. Before work started an, a on site specific risk assessment was carried out to identify all potential issues/hazards with the tasks ahead. We installed 72LM of 180mm PE100 Barrier Pipe SDR11 via the method of Butt Fusion. We installed 50LM of 63mm HDPE Barrier Pipe SDR11 via method of Electro Fusion Welding. All joints were wrapped in Aluminium foil tape and then Denso tape for further protection. Pressure Testing was carried out at 12 Bar and was issued with a pass certificate for both mains. The 180 and 63mm water main was then swabbed, and then the 63mm was Chlorinated and flushed, with samples taken and sent to a lab to confirm results. Chlorination results came back with a pass and certification has been issued meaning final connections to the water main can be carried out by the water provider. A WIAPS certificate of compliance has been issued and a copy sent to the water provider (Thames Water).
